UK school chiefs get iMovie treatment

Apple UK is targeting UK school chiefs in its continuing bid to push its digital-video solutions as learning tools.

“Transforming learning and teaching: Exploring the use of digital-video in education” is a free, one-day event taking place in Northampton on June 25. It’s aimed at Local Education Authority advisors; education-policy makers; city learning centres; and representatives from the specialist-schools sector.

The event explores how digital-video can be integrated into teaching, learning and content-creation. It also looks at how local education authorities can use iMovie, QuickTime and AirPort to implement digital-video technologies in schools, using it to further the provision and dissemination of content across broadband networks.

World-renowned movie maker and chancellor of the University of Sunderland, Lord David Puttnam, is due to give a keynote speech. Among other works, Lord Puttnam produced Chariots of Fire and The Killing Fields.
